Am I Locked Out? Romance Question

I was trying to start a love triangle between my Dark Urge, Astarion, and Shadowheart. I slept with Astarion very early on. He was at exceptional approval before we even reached the goblin camp. (And I'm playing a "good" DU so I'm a little confused. But whatever.).


However, at the Tiefling party, I accepted invitations to spend the night with both Astarion and Shadowheart remembering it lets you choose. Yet, every time I chose Shadowheart, the game defaulted to Astarion. I tried reloading multiple times. Same result.


Did he intervene and become super possessive or is this a glitch? And can I still start a romance with Shadowheart or am I screwed?


I've progressed the game since then. Killed the spider in the caves and got the Necromancy of Thay gem.. Long rested twice.. but Shadow Heart still hasn't found me/initiated anything.

That’s weird. On my first run I had Astarion, Shadowheart, and Karlach proposition me at the party. I chose Astarion that night, but I still got Shadowheart’s scene on the next long rest. My approval was very high. Are you longresting above ground? Maybe her scene doesn’t trigger if you’re in the Underdark during long rest.
