The story could open with the main character just sat at home somewhere or even as a professor and reading the daily prophet and reads that there is a threat against Hogwarts. I think if they added the game to be able to read the last games save data to find out where you were in the previous game (like house, friendships, and spells etc) it would make it more interesting to see the person you’ve played as grow up. Plus if Hogwarts legacy is set before Harry Potter it wouldn’t mess with the films and the movies.
