Wait, Spell Scribing from Wizard dips is bad, isn't it?
Okay, so I know a lot of people, when making a pure spell caster, like to take a single level dip into Wizard, since, at Level 12, you'll be able to learn up to Level 6 spells from scrolls. But isn't that actually kind of bad?
Let's say you're a Cleric taking a 1 Level dip into Wizard at Character Level 12. Well, now your Scrolls will be working off your Intelligence. Which, as a Cleric, is probably 8, unless you're a Knowledge Domain Cleric, where having some Intelligence is pretty good for face of party purposes. .
But if you do it the other way around, and start as a Wizard and take 11 levels of Cleric every other Level, then it's still not really gonna work out, as spells you learn from scrolls become Wizard Spells. And will still use your Intelligence. .
So, am I missing something? Why would you ever do this?
Question from user Right_Entertainer324 at BaldursGate3 at reddit.com.
Answer:
Why would i care if knock or greater invisibilty use my int? You dont put spells with saves in the wizard slots.
