Last night, I was lockpicking something with 20 DC. I have +12 in bonuses and the 1d4 guidance roll. So essentially, on any roll, I have +13-17 bonus, which means the dice would have to roll a 6 or lower for me to fail against 20 DC.
I failed 4 straight times.
Frustrating, to say the least ??.

Answer:
Remember that roll to get Shadowheart out of the pod, on the nautiloid, where you need a 2? Both Laezel and I failed that Illithid check with a 1 - critical failure. I hadnt even saved up to that point.
