What blocks Barbarian spell casting?

I have been experimenting with Karlach and a Heat build, as she has innate fire resistance. However I often encounter this when trying to use the Heat for extra fire damage. Casting spells is blocked. She does not have an effect which blocks spells such as silence. She just has Bull's Strength, Blessing of Selûne, Pixie Blessing, Rage, and Bless. The female voice actor is infinitely better than the male.

I've been playing Hogwarts Legacy for around 30 hours, and while I love the game, the male voice actor grates on me. His over-pronounciation and "oh golly!" manner of speaking genuinely makes me cringe; no offence to the voice actor, but it's awful. I have already seen tutorials on Minecraft regarding dynamic lighting, but none of them seem fancy enough. What I'm thinking of is a way to make dynamic lighting that is clean and not destructive. I looked at this video, and some other videos do the trick mentioned as well, but as pointed out in this one here, using a block that emits light overhead has its disadvantages, mainly due to other blocks interfering with the light source.
