. if not Astarion? I'm considering ditching him for the first time in my second run, but he is my lockpicker and trap disarmer, and Act 3 has many areas full of traps and locks. Of course, I could make another rogue, or give someone else proficiency in sleight of hand, but is there something else that folks typically do?

Answer:

Usually a bard hireling or my character if multi-classed into rogue. One level of rogue is all it takes to get sleight of hand expertise bonus.
