Regional differences in Borderlands 2

Regional differences in Borderlands 2

Posted On: May 19, 2023
General question: Are there any differences in Borderlands 2, based on the game's region code? Specific case: I received a game coded for Region 3, but I live in the U.S.. Are there any significant differences I should expect between this game and the game that is made for the U.S.? I have been able to run the game, and everything appears to be in English so far. So, I suppose my primary concern is about any content differences - is there anything that was censored for Region 3 or, to my benefit instead, anything that was unlocked for . . . [More]

What does SP do?

What does SP do?

Posted On: May 19, 2023
I recently decided to subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online, so I can play the NES games included in the service. When I launched the NES Nintendo Switch Online app, I noticed that some games were listed twice, such as Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Ninja Gaiden, and more. The duplicate appears to have a "SP Special" logo on top of the game's cover art. Pictured: Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden SP. But what exactly does the "SP" do? What's the difference between SP and non-SP? Question from user Nolonar at gam . . . [More]

Whats up with Geodudes gen 1 moveset?

Posted On: May 19, 2023
I read on pokemondb.com that in gen 1 Geodude learns Defence Curl, Harden, Self Destruct and Explosion. This seems like a strange combination of moves to me, and I have two questions. Harden and Defence Curl appear to be identical, both increasing defence by one stage. Is there a difference that I'm missing? Why would Geodude learn both moves when they are the same? Explosion and Self Destruct also appear to be almost identical, both causing Geodude to faint and also dealing heavy normal type damage. However it seems that Explosion de . . . [More]

In Zelda TOTK, Is there a way to select a material for all arrows?

Posted On: May 18, 2023
When aiming a bow, pressing ↑ opens the Materials list "Select a material to attach.". Is there a way to avoid having to open this menu for every arrow that you fire, if you wanted to fire the same type multiple times in a row, whether through a menu option that I have overlooked, or some upgraded ability, or weapon? Question from user AChrapko at gaming.stackexchange.com. Answer: It must be done per-arrow. There is no power or setting to make this any simpler, unfortunately. Answer from user Seiyria at gaming.stac . . . [More]

How can I see the version of steam deck?

Posted On: May 18, 2023
I was thinking about buying a Steam Deck and to save a couple of bucks, figured I'd try to buy one used. Before I hand over the cash, I'd like to verify the one I'm buying is as advertised. As there are three versions advertised (and perhaps varying generations (?)), is there a way I can determine the version—especially the storage distinction of the 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB models, based on the outward physical appearance or the internal menu—and if so, how? I've found a YouTube video demonstrating how to find t . . . [More]

Next to each achievement in Overwatch there's a little number in a circle, what does that mean? Question from user Wrigglenite at gaming.stackexchange.com. Answer: The number signifies the amount of "Achievement Points" the achievement is worth. The amount of points directly corresponds with the Achievement's difficulty. . As of right now I cannot find a way to see all achievement points accrued. I don't like the current achievement menu; it shows you your 6 most recently earned achievements but you have no way . . . How do I find the ID for a game on Steam?

Every game on Steam has a different Game ID (also known as App ID). For instance, looking on my own computer, Portal has an ID of 400, and FTL: Faster Than Light is 212680. How do I find this ID for a specific game on Steam? Question from user IQAndreas at gaming.stackexchange.com. Answer: Go to the game's store page and check the URL. The last number in the URL is the application ID. All the store URLs are in format store.steampowered.com/app/APPID, so for Wasteland 2, the URL is http://store.steampowered.com/app/240760/, and a . . . [More]

How do I activate Sidons water bubble ability in TotK?

How do I activate Sidons water bubble ability in TotK?

Posted On: May 17, 2023
I'm currently exploring the Water Temple, where I can reach the water wheels. Now, every guide I've seen so far tells me I need to use the water bubble ability on the water wheels, but none of them tell how to do that. How do I activate that ability, step by step? Which buttons to press, which items to select, etc. PS. I remember the water bubble being introduced just before the mud worm combat, but I actually defeated that worm without much help from Sidon, by simply clearing up mud with splash arrows.
