Act I, Astarion approval high, but romance not triggering?

For the tiefling party my relationship was not high enough and Astarion outright rejected me.I'm still in Act I, just nearing the end of it and I finally got his approval up to high. I hear you can romance him even without the party, but his romantic dialogue is not triggering. Help with Shadowheart approval.

Attempting my first honor mode run

I've beat the game twice on balanced with different party combos and classes to familiarize myself with as much as the game as possible. .My plan for my HM run is:.Spores Druid Tav, OH Monk Karlach (maybe thief dip but not sure if it matches the rp), Swords Bard/gloomstalker Astarion (heavy dex for range use), War Cleric/Storm Sorcerer Shadowheart.Might be going overboard on OP classes but honor mode scares me. .Any tips or tweaks would be helpful!.Question from user Opalpixie75 at BaldursGate3 at reddit.com.Answer:My top 3 rules for honour mod . . .
