Why are Fallouts computers so backwards?

The games are set in the future right? Circa 2077. But the terminals look like the computers back in the 1950's. When we actually had to type commands to get things done. Why is this? When being killed by an object or non-player, does that entity gain the XP I had in diep.io?

In Pikmin 2, after you repay the company's debt of 10,000 Pokos, you are tasked with collecting the rest of the uncollected treasures. However, I noticed you can still earn money outside of treasures by collecting defeated enemies in the underground.
