Why is the fishing rod so helpful for PvP in old combat?

I have always played PvP on servers like Hypixel, and for years I've noticed that I always get a fishing rod when I duel other players. I have used it, but I have never seen a difference when I actually use it. I have tried to research this, but all Google gave me was how to use it, not why it's helpful. What happened to the Minecraft Update feed?

In the launcher, prior to version 1.8, Minecraft used to have a log of the updates that were implemented in each version. But now, the only thing I have seen since Microsoft bought Minecraft is a promotional cape notice. And since then rabbits, Sponges, new enchantments and new enchantment features have been added, and even a new boss, but no mention of it in the launcher? Does anyone know if there is something I'm missing, or if it's to do with Microsoft's take over? What I'm looking for is a list of all the new featur . . . [More]

BG3 trophy list is a bit...

Hostile. I don't mind trophies for playing the game badly that take a few minutes to unlock or which can be done in the context of a throwaway save. But Jack of all Trades? Who in their right minds would take twelve different classes? Is there some way around this or am I basically going to have a rotten time for 100 or so hours? With separate playthroughs needed for Tactician difficulty and the Dark Urge origin, it seems that anyone planning to unlock trophies isn't really going to get to simply play the game as they like. Does Lore Bard get good at later levels?

Hey all, I know basically all straight classes end up good enough, but I am trying to decide between a pure sorcerer or pure bard. I have a paladin/warlock sitting at the start of ACT 3 and just got bored and wanted a caster that wasnt so 1 dimensional. Which is why I picked Lore Bard but after getting to level like 5 its just kinda ehh. I know sorcerer would PICK UP right now with fireball, but bard feels average.
