What does a checkmark in the Monster List mean?
Posted On: November 27, 2023
When looking at the Monster List, what does it mean when a monster has a green checkmark next to them?
Question from user Stevoisiak at stackexchange.
Answer:
A green checkmark means you have the Thought Peak info for that monster unlocked.
These entries are typically unlocked by using Mallow's Thought Peak ability. Alternatively, you can buy random entries from an NPC at Booster Pass for 3 Frog Coins.

What does it mean when Im cowering in fear?
Posted On: November 27, 2023
In the Kero Sewers, enemy Boos sometimes use a Scream attack that makes one of my party members cower in fear with a purple aura around them. The scared party member can seemingly still fight like normal, so what does this cowering in fear state mean?
Question from user Stevoisiak at stackexchange.
Answer:
When a character is afraid, their attack and defense is cut in half, meaning they deal only half damage to enemies and receive approximately fifty percent more damage from enemy attacks.

Statement from Larian

Regarding patch 4:.
" In Patch 4 we introduced a fix that would prevent the Scrying Eyes in Moonrise Towers from immediately calling the guards on you when stealing, even if you were sneaking, or invisible for example.
This fix had the unintended consequence of causing unnoticed thefts & acts of vandalism to remain stuck forever within the ‘did anyone see me’ pipeline, rather than timing out and moving on, as is intended. Essentially, your ‘DM’ - in a real-world sense - constantly thinks about the acts of . . . [

Is the missable chest in the Mushroom Castle still in the remake?
Posted On: November 26, 2023
In the original Super Mario RPG on SNES, there is a missable hidden treasure chest that could only be obtained by jumping on a Toad's head the first time you visit Mushroom Castle. Once you enter the throne room, you would be locked out of obtaining it as the toad would no longer respawn.
Is this missable chest still in the Switch remake?

Question from user Stevoisiak at stackexchange.
Answer:
Yes, the hidden chest in Mushroom Castle is still present in the remake. However there is now a wand . . . [

Why does this solution to 5-3 work? Didnt the Prince get eaten?
Posted On: November 26, 2023
In Storyteller, a puzzle game about telling stories that fit a title, I accidentally solved Chapter 5.3 - Duplicity: A Kiss and a Curse without understanding why my solution worked.
Kiss, Witch, Prince: Prince refuses to kiss the Witch.
Forest, Witch, Prince: Witch turns Prince into a frog.
Cauldron, Witch: Witch eats from cauldron, presumably eating the frog.
Kiss, Witch, Prince: Prince and the Witch kiss.
When I look at these events, it looks like the Witch turned the Prince into a frog, the Witch ate frog stu, then kissed the . . . [

Can I progress without doing isobel’s fight encounter?
Posted On: November 25, 2023
I think I’ve reloaded my save 6 or 7 times trying to save this & I can’t for the life of me make it happen. I think the closest I’ve gotten has been getting Marcus down to like 31 health but those flying things keep taking her out every time.
Is there a way I can just get her protection spell then leave and make my way with a torch? Im convinced that at my current class and rank that this boss fight is unbeatable and don’t really wanna waste hours trying to beat it.
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated . . . [

Can you unlock secret stamps before beating the game in Storyteller?
Posted On: November 24, 2023
After getting every crown in Storyteller, I unlocked a list of achievements called the Secret Stamp Collection. If I met the requirements for one of these stamps before beating the game, could I unlock the stamp before knowing the requirements?
Question from user Stevoisiak at stackexchange.
Answer:
No, you cannot unlock stamps before beating the game. I unintentionally met the conditions for a few stamps during my playthrough, (Second Chance, Excesses, Crown Secrets), but my stamp book had no stamps completed when I unlocked it.

Why is this affair-filled solution to Love Revolution incorrect?
Posted On: November 24, 2023
I am on the final chapter (Novels) of Storyteller. Stage 4 (Love Revolution) of this chapter has the title "Knight and Maid Murder the Monarchs and Have an Affair".
I arranged the panels so the Maid has an affair with the King and kills the Queen, while the Knight has an affair with the Queen and kills the King. However, despite matching the title, the solution didn't count.
Why was my solution incorrect? Is there some hidden requirement I'm missing? Do the Knight and the Maid need to have an affair with each other inste . . . [

This short - long rest thing is annoying and makes no sense...
Posted On: November 24, 2023
Full disclosure, I've never actually played D&D, but always wanted to. And I'm only about 5 hours into BG3.
With that out of the way. what the hell? Why does just about every non-basic ability require you to short/long rest before you can use it again? You're really telling me my trained Paladin can only hit people with the pommel of his sword once before he has to take a nap? And can only do that a max of 3 times a day? And my trained wizard can only cast like 2 spells before he needs to nap too?
I don't get the logic . . . [

How do I trigger the effect of the new item, Enduring Brooch?
Posted On: November 21, 2023
According to the description in the game for the Enduring Brooch, it's:.
A brooch that will prevent you from going down once per battle.
But what exactly does it mean by "going down?".
Does that apply to the character that has it equipped and prevents them from being knocked out? Does that mean the if everyone is knocked out, they come back?
I had it equipped through some tough battles and the character that had it equipped still got knocked out like normal, and I still lost the battle when everyone was knocked out.
